Dermabrasion

Irregularities of the skin surface can result from scarring or from the growth of benign papules or "skin bumps". For young patients, who do not require the skin-tightening effect of a resurfacing laser, the best way to smooth skin may be to gently "sand down" the irregularities.

Dermabrasion is performed under local anesthesia and takes about 30-60 minutes to perform. The initial healing takes 7 days, after which make-up can be applied.
